There is no way to talk about what I’m doing today without sharing a lot of personal stuff. And this blog is not really the place for that. Having said that, this blog also aims to be honest about who I am. I mentioned on Tuesday that life is pretty tough for my family; my stepfather has incurable/inoperable CNS lymphoma. He is a really strong person and has been fighting this since 2005 but I am not sure that there is much fight left. We got some more bad news at the beginning of the week and he has been in hospital since last Thursday.
My mum is his full time carer. I’ve never seen someone face as much hardship as she has, yet she has so much hope and strength and faith in God and love to give. When people vow to look after each other in sickness and in health, you don’t think about watching someone’s life slowly slip away from you. My mum makes me so proud to say that I am her daughter.
Today I am going to visit them in the hospital (they live nearly two hours away). I’m wearing an outfit that is comfy for driving and hanging out. My brother’s girlfriend is coming along to support me. Thanks Emma.
