• Have just put flannelette sheets on my bed, making it my favourite place in the world.
• Starting to get stressed that I have less than five months until I start maternity leave and a bazillion and three things to do in that time.
• Crammed two mothers day celebrations into last Sunday.
• Got my first mother’s day gift from the husband… diamond earrings! Very spoiled.
• Behind on uni work and only making things worse for myself.
• Excited to start ukulele lessons soon.

Bump Size: Pretty non-existent! Still no bump to speak of, with a hint of roundness where my previously completely flat stomach was. 

Symptoms: Each morning I still feel a little bit of nausea but apart from that, my sickness has disappeared. I’m usually tired in the early evenings and my skin isn’t as clear as it used to be.

Sleep: I can’t cope with less than 8.5 hours and have been known to sleep for up to 11, which was heavenly!

Style: I can fit into all of my clothes although some jeans/pants are getting a little tight. If I sit for long periods of time or eat a big meal, the top button needs to come un-buttoned.

What I’m eating: A lot of low fat greek yogurt and Tzatziki dip (of which the main ingredient is greek yogurt!), plus red meat has been sounding good lately. 

Baby Prep: Buying a chest of drawers for baby’s room on super sale – $200 down from $699. Oh and obsessively checking Gumtree for rocking chairs that I like, as I’m super picky and find the large Glider type chairs to be hideous!

Highlight this week: Attending a martial arts workshop where I learnt how to facilitate a three day self defence course. It felt great to prove that at 15.5 weeks pregnant I can still kick butt and even broke a piece of wood with my bare hands.

I hit November last year and ran out of things to say – I couldn’t think of anything worth blogging about, so I stopped. I never wanted my blog to be something I forced myself to do and when it began to feel like a chore more than a creative outlet, it was obvious that I needed a break.

I logged off and didn’t give it another thought.

4 busy months passed (big projects at work, Christmas, starting my Masters, holidays) and then we got some big news… we’re having a baby! Since finding out the news and beginning to prepare for a new addition to our family, I’ve found myself wanting to document this journey for the friends I have overseas.

So, I’m resurrecting this blog as now I have something to talk about!

I had so much fun shooting Phly Crew at the festival, as they were always doing something interesting with their expressions or body movement. Having gained  popularity through appearing on Australia’s Got Talent, they were the hit of the day and had crowds of people begging to join them on stage.

The downside was working on a Sunday in the sun and getting a headache. The upside was meeting some lovely local people, promoting our youth services, patting a cute pig and acquiring more time in lieu for my upcoming visit to see Elisabeth in NZ.

Being married is awesome.

Hanging out with all your church friends at said wedding, is awesome times three.

It was my little brother’s 23rd birthday during the week. So we took him out on the town. Or not too far down the road to a semi reasonable mexican place.

Where I had one of these to reward myself after a long day at work.

And Alan enjoyed some special stationary.

He claimed a free beer as his reward and I posted this on Facebook in his honour: If Alan Watters was a superhero, his power would be the ability to destroy things in a single bite. Impressive eating…

I’m celebrating that….

The annoying leaf that was stuck under my windshield wiper, and was obstructing my view in pouring rain, flew off half way down Canterbury road.

I remembered to take my umbrella on above mentioned rainy day.

My tickets to Melbourne are booked and I even have a packing list planned, to maximise my 10kg of luggage space.

I figured out how to change my voicemail on my work phone. I only had to re-record three times before I stopped saying ummm and leaving large awkward pauses.

Elisabeth texted me. Any Elisabeth text is always worth a celebration!

The large pile of dirty dishes and the extremely large pile of dirty clothes were sorted out before work.

This weeks’ shopping list for groceries looks like it will come under budget.

I crossed some things off my “to do” list at work.

I returned my library book on time!

Someone once told me that my husband reminded them of a Meerkat.

I can’t remember who it was, but I can totally see it. Those meerkats, they are all kinds of crazy awesome.

There was one meerkat lying in the sun on his back, catching some rays and probably thinking if I pretend to play dead, those silly humans might just go away. That is the kind of quick thinking meerkat my husband would be. You know, if he was a meerkat.

There’s a bear in there… somewhere.

The last few weeks of work have been consumed by school holiday activities – planning them, promoting them, taking registrations, recruiting volunteers and organising buses. Not forgetting then actually running the events which included a soccer day, zoo trip, day at Jamberoo, ice skating, a trip to the aquarium and the imax. While it sounds like I get paid to have fun, being responsible for 25 teenagers at once is quite overwhelming!
